So, here goes nothing...

28th October 2024

I have no fucking clue how to start this.

After a lot of friends told me that I should start a podcast

or a blog due to my captivating story-telling skills, I

finally succumbed to this popular demand

(approximately 2 people in total actually said this)

and made a blog.

I’d always thought that the blog was a dying form, and yet

here we are, to prove that it probably is.

OR that it isn’t. Nonetheless, I've got a lot to say, so it’s about

bloody time I started to share it.

I’m India, 24 and from the UK. After graduating from uni in

the summer of 2022, I travelled 10000 miles on my own to

Australia without a single clue or direction of what it was that

I wanted to do with my life. This was almost two years ago.

Two years later, has anything changed? Hmmm I’m going to go with no.

But I am SO over seeing everyone talk about how travelling, and Australia in particular, is nothing but sunshine and rainbows, when I can confirm it certainly is NOT; these past 2 years have, without a doubt, been the hardest of my life.

With that being said, I wouldn’t change any of it (okay maybe some parts). But I’m here to shed some clarity on the good, the bad and alllll the ugly, to give those that haven’t travelled yet a gentle reality check, and to give those that are already here some reassurance that it’s so so fine if your life isn’t what you see on TikTok because neither is mine or probably anybody’s.

This blog is primarily going to be travel based, telling you everything that I did right but mostly what I did very very wrong, so I can prevent you from making those same mistakes!! (or go ahead and make them anyway - character development after all).

I’ve got a lot of advice to give, and a lot of stories to tell.

As well as this, following my hefty 2-week stint as an Australian tour guide, I evidently believe I now possess the necessary qualifications to dish out all of my recommendations to you. Everything from the most gorgeous waterfalls to visit, finding the best coffee and discovering an

actually half-decent night out in Australia - a bigger challenge than what you might think.

After months of umming and arrring as to whether this was going to be a good idea and whether I’d lose the little dignity I have left by writing about my most embarrassing moments and putting them online for anyone to see, I thought fuck it, I figured I have nothing to lose anyway.

So please, come along for the ride.
